Mark Zamoyski, Founder and Chairman

Mark Zamoyski is the founder, primary investor, and the principal scientist. Mark has spent the last several years on innovative solutions for unmet medical needs.

Mark's issued patents include novel antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antiproliferative compounds for use in dermal and pulmonary indications.

Mark also has a series of patents for improved oncology protocols termed Cell Cycle Synchronous Chemotherapy. The protocols use tumor specific mutations and characteristics to achieve S-Phase enrichment relative to successive administrations of S-Phase cytotoxic chemotherapy.

Mark also has patents pending that disclose novel etiology and novel treatment methods related to migraines and seizures.

Prior to NexGen, Mark spent 12 years with Biomation Corporation and its parent company, where he worked his way up to executive positions including CFO and VP of Sales and Marketing and was involved in the ultimate sale of the company. Mark received his BS in 1977 and MBA in 1978, both from Cornell University.

Dr. Maria Zagorski, MD, - Advisory Board

Dr. Maria Zagorski received her MD from George Washington School of Medicine in 1979 and her bachelors degree in Biochemistry with distinction in all subjects in 1975 from Cornell University. She did her internship and residency at UCLA Hospital. She founded, managed, and sold three medical corporations (Valencia Gynecology, Zagorski Medical Group, and Van Nuys Urology).

She provides guidance from both a molecular medicine perspective and from a practitioner’s perspective.





Dr. Radomir Julina, Ph.D., - Advisory Board

Dr. Julina has unique expertise with virtual drug development, having structured and managed accelerated drug development, using efficient “multi-company” entities and global outsourcing. Dr. Julina was Co-Founder and Director of Protodigm Ltd. (UK), an innovative virtual drug development company based on outsourcing, which was spun out of Roche.

Dr. Julina spent 15 years with Hoffman-LaRoche in Switzerland, USA and UK where he worked primarily in pharma operations and drug development. He was directly involved in the global development of a number of therapeutic products by taking them from IND to the marketplace. He was instrumental in the development of drugs including Xeloda (cancer) and Xenical (obesity). Dr. Julina was also Co-Founder and former Head of R&D and Vice-Chairman of CarboGen Laboratories and CEO of Pharmaceutix Inc.

Dr. Julina also has investor side experience. He was involved in the management of a later stage investment fund (Celtic Pharma) whose investments include Xenova (brain cancer) and IDEA AG (transdermal liposomal delivery).

Dr. Julina received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1988 from University of Zurich (Switzerland)




Dr. Ving J. Lee Ph.D., - Advisory Board

Dr. Lee has expertise in accelerated drug discovery and pre-clinical research using integrated chemistry and systems biology. He has extensive experience with anti-infectives, having been involved in the discovery and / or development of mitoxantrone (Wyeth), bisantrene, tazobactam (Wyeth), cefixime, cefuzonam, beta-lactamase inhibitors, the glycylcyclines, gyrase inhibitors, oral carbapenems, beta-lactams for problematic gram-positive pathogens, uridyl-peptide antibiotics, inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps, and antiviral agents. Dr. Lee also has working knowledge of various natural products and fungal mycotoxins, including our molecules, and extensive contacts in pharmaceutical companies and government agencies involved with anti-infectives. Dr. Lee's career includes positions with Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Microcide Pharmaceuticals, and Lederle. While at Anacor, Dr. Lee raised $ 30 M, of which $ 7 M was VC funding and $ 23 M was government funding.

Dr. Lee is currently CEO and CSO for Adesis Inc., a chemistry based CRO whose customer base ranges from small biotechs to Big Pharma. Dr. Lee is also SAB member at Micrologix Biotech (Vancouver), Chiralogix Pharmaceuticals (Vancouver), Ulysses Pharmaceuticals (Montreal), BioSource (New York), Green Hill Biotechnology (Austria); BOD member for CB Research and Development.

Dr. Lee obtained his BA in Chemistry from Ohio University in 1971, his MS and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from University of Illinois -Champaign-Urbana in 1973 and 1975 respectively, and did NIH-postdoctoral work at Harvard University from 1975 - 77.




Richard A. Lepidi, MBA, CFA - Business Advisor

Richard Lepidi provides advice and assistance in financing, out-licensing, and business collaborations.

Richard’s career includes positions at Mellon Bank and Westinghouse Financial, with experience in investment banking, investment management, corporate finance, credit recovery, and financial analysis. Richard also held an executive position at Hamilton Management Group, Inc., where he co-managed the repositioning of the asset allocation of a $ 90 million pension portfolio that transformed an underfunded plan to permanent overfunded status.

Richard is currently a business consultant with engagements in corporate development, debt and equity financing, business strategy for partnering, and intellectual property development and commercialization. Apart from his consulting practice, he is an active private investor in various capital markets.

Richard received his MBA from Cornell University in 1978, BA Magna Cum Laude from Dickinson College in 1976, and Chartered Financial Analyst accreditation in 1984.
